Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started by releasing a humorous rap track that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. Her career expanded to Hollywood following the release of a series of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. Following a focus on education, she earned an education in journalism at college and a women's studies degree. She turned her attention towards music after she finished her studies. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained viral hits like body positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$. The track that was published specifically linked to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. The singer decided to make a career as an actor following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. In addition to early series like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
